Meter Reader -Various Locations in British Columbia Job

As a Meter Reader you will be primarily responsible for reading and recording meter readings using specialized equipment and recognizing /reporting meter irregularities and other distribution equipment irregularities. This work is done on behalf of our clients. We are recruiting on an on going basis and you will be working as and when required. Meter Readers will be needed in the following locations in BC: Fort Nelson, Terrace, Prince Rupert, Vanderhoof, For St. John, Dawson, Creek, Chetwynd, Mackenzie, Smithers, Burns Lake ,Prince George, Port Hardy, Campbell River, Courtenay, Qualicum, Port Alberni, Duncan, Powell River, Nanaimo,Ganges, Atchelitz, Hope, Coquitlam, North Shore, Squamish, Sechelt, Abbotsford, Bella Coola, Quesnel, Valemount, Williams Lake, 100 Mile House, Clearwater, Cache Creek, Lillooet, Revelstoke, Merrit, Salmon Arm, Kamloops, Anaheim Lake, Vernon, Westbank (Kelowna), Penticton, Golden, Invermere, Cranbrook, Fernie, Nelson, Nakusp, Trail, Grand Forks, Burnaby ,Vancouver, Victoria, Surrey, Delta, Langley and Richmond
· Successful completion of secondary school education (high school diploma or equivalent) is required
· Valid Class 5 BC driver's license is required
· You will be required to complete in-house Meter Reader Training, which will include dog and safety training
· Effective communication, interpersonal and listening skills to interact with customers and the public in a professional and courteous manner
· Knowledge of Customer Service terminology; customer treatment protocols, customer handling techniques, office practices, procedures, routines, and personal computer applications and operation
· Physical ability to walk for extended periods, climb stairs, bend or assume unusual physical postures to read awkwardly placed meters and/or move items obstructing meters
· Safe, courteous driving skills and observance of provincial and municipal driving/parking regulations
· Strict observance of Workers Compensation Board Regulations and Occupational Safety and Health standards is required
