In addition, consultants need to apply their skills in project and program management while exhibiting leadership in process re-engineering and implementation of process, technology, and organizational change. Finally, consultants also need to have a working knowledge of the industry and/or the functional areas they serve.
The Consulting workforce is made up of three groups: Management Consulting, Systems Integration Consulting and Technology Consulting. This consulting group structure provides outstanding opportunities to develop highly specialized skills that will help you advance your career.
Systems Integration Consulting professionals are responsible for delivering large-scale, complex programs that marry processes with technology to help our clients achieve high performance. Technical Architecture professionals focus on using highly prescriptive delivery architectures to design, build and deploy high-volume, mission-critical custom application solutions, packaged application solutions, or SOA-based solutions. They provide technical architecture environments for mobile solutions and provide the supporting development and run-time environments required to develop these solutions. The work will most often be on J2EE, .NET, SAP or Oracle platforms. SOA-based work also entails developing integration solutions across client organizations and through their extended enterprises, using new Web Services and SOA technology standards to help clients achieve both short and long-term integration goals faster and more cost efficiently than with traditional integration methods.
Packaged Technical Architecture professionals focus on developing the technical architectures for packaged solutions. They will work across different packages focusing on building core architecture skills and have responsibilities for defining how the packaged technical architecture fit into a broader technical architecture within a client's environment.
Key responsibilities may include:
· Supervising process and functional design activities
· Creating functional requirements as an input to application design
· Developing and testing detailed functional designs for business solution components and prototypes
· Supervising application build, test, and deploy activities
· Planning and executing data conversion activities (e.g., test data)
· Driving test planning and execution
· Experience in Component Architecture, Custom Delivery Methods, Packaged Solution Environment Management, Packaged Solution Integration Architecture, Packaged Solution Performance Tuning, Packaged Solution Data Architecture, Java, J2EE, .NET Platform, PL/SQL, Platform Technologies, service oriented architectures (SOA), Highly Available Solutions, Highly Scaleable Solutions, Packaged Solution Integrated Development Environments, Software Quality Management
· Ability to meet travel requirements, when applicable
Professional Skill Requirements
· Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment
· Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
· Desire to work in an information systems environment
· Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
· 5-8 years of relevant experience
· Recognised University Degree
· Strong technical experience in EAI/On-line Architecture, such as GRND framework
· Implementation Experience in ACS IOM Implementation
· Experience in Siebel Project Implementation, particularly in (a) Order Processing (b) Product Configuration (c) Integration
· Experience in BEA WLI Technical Architecture, including development, execution and operational architecture
· Experience in BEA WLI and Weblogic software deployment
· Experience in J2EE application development
