In addition, consultants need to apply their skills in project and programme management while exhibiting leadership in process re-engineering and implementation of process, technology, and organisational change. Finally, consultants also need to have a working knowledge of the industry and/or the functional areas they serve.

The Consulting workforce is made up of three groups: Management Consulting, Systems Integration Consulting and Technology Consulting. This consulting group structure provides outstanding opportunities to develop highly specialised skills that will help you advance your career.

Job Description


Technology Consulting professionals are responsible for delivering technology innovation and providing the backbone of our systems integration business.

Technology Architecture professionals use highly prescriptive and structured processes (or architecture) to design and build high-volume, mission-critical solutions.

Technology Delivery Architecture professionals define the process for building and deploying custom technology solutions.

Key responsibilities may include:

Planning and managing diagnosis and assessment activities and defining high-level programme/action plans

·
Identifying opportunities to drive more value from an organisation's IT strategy through technology strategies in targeted areas, including technology infrastructure (overall as well as security, networks, and desktop) and technology architecture (overall as well as mobility, portals, and information management)

·
Ensuring technology requirements will allow modeling and address performance and security

·
Ensuring high level design supports a robust technology solution, taking into account the user requirements, technical requirements, etc. (e.g., solution architecture)

·
Planning and managing technology design activities

·
Being recognised as an expert on one or more technology vendors/products/areas

·
Leading the technology evaluation and selection effort

·
Planning and managing capacity planning activities

·
Planning and managing programme-wide technology build, test and deployment activities

·
Being an expert in troubleshooting and performance tuning one or more technology products

·Bachelors Degree in a relevant field

·Database tuning experience, specifically related to either DB2/Oracle/SQL Server/Ingres.

·Capacity modeling & statistical analysis experience. Experience with BMC or Hyperformix would be highly regarded

·Performance testing experience with HP/Mercury LoadRunner or Jprobe

·Architecture design experience

·Wily Introscope Performance Diagnostic experience.

Highly Desirable Experience:

·Production Support of a large scale environment

·Infrastructure knowledge (SPARC/Mainframe/SAN)

·Experience with .NET, JAVA, COBOL, MQ, Websphere and C/C
