Job Description


The Accenture Marketing Sciences group is a successful and fast growing practice within Accenture. The group has over 350 professionals working in 20 countries. We help our clients analyse the impact of their marketing investments on revenue and profit. The scope of our work spans the complete sales and marketing spectrum, from Sales forces to marketing mix to price and promotions. The aim is to change the way our clients plan their marketing investments ultimately increasing the efficiency of their organisations. We leverage the Accenture brand and work closely with our industry groups to help our clients achieve high performance. Our group has truly global footprint and our clients are drawn from a wide range of industry sectors (FMCG, Retail, Pharma, Telco, Hi-Tech, Natural Resources, Automotive, Financial services, and many more).

Given the rising importance of digital and on line web based marketing activities, Accenture recently completed the acquisition of two of World's leading companies in the areas of digital optimization - Memetrics and Maxamine. These two acquisitions are part of an exciting new initiative by Accenture Marketing Sciences that will further increase our presence in the digital marketing front office.

Overall responsibility

At the core of this role is the delivery of "world class" digital and optimisation services for clients in China. The Manager will be help drive new business efforts and the management of client projects in this area working with other AMS and consulting team members as appropriate,

The manager will support the global growth of our Digital Consulting practice as well as assist other Asia Pacific AMS teams on projects, as necessary

Key areas of responsibility

Help to build and maintain a reputation in China for thought leadership in the digital consulting space by promoting marketing science to drive digital optimization. This would include building deep knowledge of the digital assets offered by Accenture Marketing Sciences, and being a contact point in the market for expert advice on these assets. This would also include the development and enhancement of these assets on client engagements, and by providing inputs to the assets owners in our Asia Digital Centres on how better meet the needs of our clients in the region.

Build a scalable Shanghai digital team to assist with the execution of the work. This would include developing training and innovation infusion sessions for new and existing Accenture Marketing Sciences staff on topics that will help them understand our digital offerings and position them to support sales and delivery of these offerings.

Develop and leverage relationships with internal (AMS and broader Accenture stakeholders) as well as external (Digital industry leaders and experts) thought leaders to maximize the impact for our digital consulting offerings.

Proactively seek out and engage clients to share the value of our digital assets and secure consulting work in the digital space. This would include developing sales and marketing presentations, securing client meetings, delivering our 'pitch' in the digital space, understanding client's pain points, tailoring our solutions to meet these pain points and driving for closure of a consulting arrangement. This task will be a strong priority for the role, as the AMS digital assets are in their infancy in China today

Sweat the delivery of our new digital consulting services. This would include execution of digital consulting services through management of digital consulting projects. In some cases this may involve delivering, or supervising the delivery of a digital component of a larger marketing or business transformation project run by Accenture Marketing Sciences or another area of Accenture. In some cases this may involve supervising the delivery of AMS consulting projects that include analysis of non-digital marketing investments (ie traditional marketing investments).

Build and maintain a working knowledge of AMS broader assets. This would include developing a broad understanding for AMS assets in the marketing mix modelling space (strategic prioritization, marketing mix, campaign optimization), media space (agency selection, media auditing) and retail space (space assortment). This will be important for understanding how our digital assets fit into the broader marketing analytics bundle.

Background:

The successful candidate will most likely have a background in digital marketing and display a high understanding of the digital and on-line industry, particularly in China and be incredibly passionate and a firm believer that digital is at the core of future marketing practices.

They will be very strong on detail, communication skills and be fluent in both Mandarin and English while possessing business acumen and an ability to work independently and deliver work to tight deadlines
