People within Infrastructure Outsourcing are responsible for the day-to-day provision of long-term outsourcing services to one or several clients. Infrastructure Outsourcing (IO) is the ongoing management and/or improvement of activities related to a part or to the whole of a technical infrastructure (e.g. information systems, security systems, telecommunications networks), allowing companies to focus on their core business and competencies.

The Database Administrator will provide database administration support, review database design and integration of systems, provide backup recovery, and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.

Responsibilities include: database loading; development and management of operational procedures; environment management; database health (e.g. monitoring, proactive and reactive responses); resource planning; database upgrade planning; backup and recovery strategy planning and implementation; environment transition planning (development, test, stage, production). This candidate will also be responsible for mentoring less senior database administrators.

Database Operations / Administration duties in relation to:

·Administration, Operations, Maintenance and Monitoring of Oracle and SQL Server database systems.

·Perform routine daily administration tasks (system/database health checks, disk utilization, monitoring of logs, trouble-shooting, etc) for Production Databases in a high availability environment

·Assist with Database Engineering efforts as requested to include deployments of new databases, data migration and patch/upgrade planning and documentation activities

·Work as a part of a Database Production Support team to smooth implementation/transition for all new products and services

·Documentation: Assist with updating and roll-out of maintenance procedures, standards and guidelines

·On-Call/Trouble-shooting support: participate in the on-call roster for 7*24 support as necessary.

·Some weeks may be asked to work early (6AM) or stay later (6PM) to ensure team coverage of core business hours.

·Minimal travel

Basic

Qualifications:

·

TS/SCI government security clearance

·

Minumum 6 months of Database Administration experience

Preferred Skills:

·Familiarity with Oracle Database Administration and/or Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration.

·Understanding of/Familiarity with 24/7 Production Support and Operations concepts

·Familiarity with basic Database, Network, Storage, Operation System concepts

·Specific skills required (i.e. required technologies): Oracle or MS/SQL Database Server, Windows, Linux and/or Sun Solaris
