Job Description

Responsibilities/Authorities

Perform a number of functions in supporting Client analysts mainly in Equity / Macro Economic / Strategy research including:

The building, formatting and maintaining financial models, such tasks include:

updating of reports or models: Earnings, Dividends, Cash Flow, Commentary, Calendars updated

build P&L and b/s financial models

recommend structuring and restructuring of the basic models built by Client

model assumptions / Sensitivities development

integrating databases with the other models

data gathering (either qualitative information, such as product information or industry & company data in any form (Bloomberg, Reuters, etc.)

Calculate financial ratios and perform financial analysis

M&A / LBO activities, to include:

value added news-flows analysis (value addition in the form of additional analysis / industry insight etc)

managing interactions with multiple Client teams

attend company presentations

produce summaries for sales force

drafting sections of thematic/initiation, equity research reports

notes to onshore analysts from a Company conf call (during earnings or other events)

creating charts and graphs for publications

Writing news summary for daily/weekly

preview / review notes

Working on Client platforms and databases

database building and maintenance

perform thought leadership/conceptual work and suggest areas for further analyses

Composing company descriptions.

Ad hoc analyses and projects as requested from time to time

Working Conditions

Must have:

Highly numerate; highly analytical; business awareness; good spoken and written English and Mandarin OR English and Japanese; Desktop PC Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

One or a combination of the following skills would be a big plus:

Financial modeling skills using advanced Excel functions and VBA

Database/statistical analysis

Specific industry knowledge e.g. semiconductor, media, retail

Survey design and implementation
