The Consulting workforce is made up of three groups: Management Consulting, Systems Integration Consulting and Technology Consulting. This consulting group structure provides outstanding opportunities to develop highly specialized skills that will help you advance your career.
Technology Consulting professionals are responsible for delivering technology innovation and providing the backbone of our systems integration business.
Workplace Technology & Collaboration (WT&C) professionals help clients assess the right end-user computing strategy to create business value, and then employ our deep technology expertise to implement flexible, cost-effective solutions that result in higher levels of performance today and in the future.
The WT&C team delivers projects in three primary areas:
· Workplace technology solutions : Helping clients with end user computing transformation, application packaging and rationalisation, desktop deployment management, and thin computing strategies including desktop and application virtualisation.
· Collaboration & Communication solutions : Includes Lotus Notes to Microsoft migrations, Microsoft to Microsoft Exchange upgrades, enterprise collaboration and unified communications engagements.
· Managed Infrastructure solutions : Encompasses end user operations, workplace and messaging managed services.
Key responsibilities of this role may include:
·Driving, supervising and reviewing technology diagnosis and assessment activities
·Identifying opportunities for technology-related improvement based on benchmark data and doing high-level cost benefit analysis
·Driving technology architecture and infrastructure design activities which supports a robust technology solution, taking into account the user requirements, technical requirements, and best practices
·Designing and developing a Standard Operating Environment (SOE), system and application deployment design across thin, thick and mobile clients
·Designing virtualisation and server based computing (SBC) platform solutions such as VDI, thin-client, blades, as well as application virtualisation
·Understanding deployment and image maintenance technologies such as RIS, WDS, MDT, Altiris RapidDeploy
·Driving and supervising technology build, test and deployment activities
·Understanding application consolidation and remediation requirements, including application packaging
·Ongoing environment management and maintenance, including patching and monitoring technologies such as WSUS, SCOM, SCCM, Altiris, HPOpenView, etc.
·Testing and transitioning technology changes into production environments
·Experience authoring technical design and build documentation
·Broad understanding of service management including ITIL Foundations
· A Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
