Job Description


The HCM Project or Program Manager will lead and manage large SAP System Integration Project / Programs.

- Ability to use effort estimating tools

- Work with functional team leads, Technical Architect, Change Management and PMO

- Provide strong yet collaborative leadership and discipline to broad teams comprised of client, and other IT and business professionals.

- Manage Project plans and organizational planning

- Manage and develop team comprised of internal and external resources.

Engage in all components of planning, executing and closing, with emphasis on Project Planning & Scheduling, Status Reporting, Issues Management, Risk Management, Change Management, Scope Management, Budget Tracking and Forecasting

Understand client's business requirement, and generate a business case with solution options evaluation and recommendation.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of SAP project management experience

- Overall Solution Architecture experience across modules such as HCM, FI, PS, PM

- Experience in all aspects of System Integration including Discovery/Design, Build, Test, Change Management and Application Maintenance.

Significant experience with large projects involving the implementation of business change and new / enhanced systems, preferably with direct experience at a major utility.

Organization skills - a demonstrated history of effective time management, coordination with stakeholders, managing customer (internal or external) expectations, a logical approach to information categorization

Excellent facilitation skills - ability to train, facilitate workshops, host information gathering sessions, make presentations

Project governance experience - working as or with a PMO, reviewing project processes to ensure they meet internal compliance requirement

The HCM Solution Architect will have the following duties:

Description

Primary Focus: This role manages and supports the sustainment and enhancement of the technology architecture utilized by the ABS-Utilities'client' environment. The core elements of the technology architecture role include: overall management of critical technology SLAs which enables client service delivery at contracted levels, provision of value added technology services to effectively integrate new business capabilities, critical environment management services to maintain environment integrity, establishment and maintenance of core system documentation to improve maintainability, and a sustained focus on continuous improvement to drive operability improvements and reduce operating costs. For all in-scope elements, the incumbent will work with other members of the Application Management team and numerous service providers to ensure stable operating environments which perform adequately and provide specialized technical advice and support for major initiatives and enhancements.

Specific Accountabilities:

Production Operations:

* Oversee and manage provision of technology services which enable stable operating environments and critical service levels; report in accordance to agreed to timelines. This scope will include internal resources and external service providers.
* Oversee the provision of Level 3 support for application and infrastructure problems that cannot be addressed by Help Desk or application teams

Technology Integration & Direction:

* Work closely with business, process, and application owners to provide direction and key input into technology architecture decisions in the maintenance environments
* Responsible for working in a collaborative fashion with transformation project stakeholders to determine an appropriate technology solution to meet outlined business requirements
* Manage the technology integration of new business capabilities in a way which promotes operational continuity and minimizes associated business risks
* Incorporate and advocate a total cost of ownership perspective in the management of technology
* Provide guidance and direction to other members of the Application Support Team. This includes assisting members in reviewing designs, providing directions, and helping structure testing activities which have a technical focus.

Continuous Improvement & Standards:

* Define, prioritize, and execute continuous improvement initiatives which reduce operating costs, enhance service levels, and improve our ability to manage various enterprise and business group system environments.
* Support the establishment and maintenance of core system documentation to enhance maintenance support and project delivery

Responsibilities:


* Manage and direct resources responsible for the day-to-day stability and performance of the application environments, including database administration, operating system management and hardware platforms.
* Provide advice, counsel, and direction to internal stakeholders on key technology issues; direct service providers in resolution of issues.
* Adhere to established ABS-Utilities management processes including: time reporting, issue & risk management, and financial reporting.
* Responsible for the development, and mentoring of resources required to improve the overall capability and effectiveness of the Environment Management team
* Manage relationships with IT vendors providing products and services to the application environment
